About the role
Based in Sydney, reporting into the Associate Director of Group Data Office you will be responsible for implementing the Records Retention Program for Macquarie’s Financial Management Group while establishing an ongoing records management lifecycle operating model.
As a Records and Information Management specialist you will provide subject matter expertise to ensure effective operations of the group record keeping framework. This includes overseeing regulatory record keeping requirements, supporting the data protection practices, as well as delivery of global Records and Information Management initiatives as prioritised by the Business. This role will include working with a broad stakeholder network across the business to understand regulatory and business drivers relating to records and information management.
The role will be responsible for:
Implementing the global solutions employed for regulatory record keeping.
Operational oversight in order to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained.
Stakeholder management across all businesses to understand regulatory drivers relating to records management.
Benchmarking records and information management practices against industry.
Identification and escalation of risk in accordance with the operational risk management and records keeping frameworks.
Providing subject matter expertise relating to record keeping.
Contribute to the development of standards and procedures to support business operations.
Undertaking any broader information governance activity as prioritised by the Business.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Sound knowledge, understanding and experience in data and information governance, or records and information management from within the banking/financial services industry.
Experience in operational risk management practices is desirable but not essential.
Experience in working within financial services or similar highly regulated industries.
Excellent communication skills to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
Developed or assisted with development of organisational policy and/ or standards
Analytical skills including understanding how to interpret business needs and requirements and translate these into operational or application requirements.
Ability to exercise initiative and be able to follow through on issues with minimal supervision.
Experience related to data protection regulation (such as GDPR) advantageous.
Program management experience of large-scale global programs across diverse jurisdictions
