Liquidity Analyst, Commodities & Global Markets

Do you have a background or interest in commodity markets, derivatives and financial risk management?  Are you looking for a diverse role as part of a dynamic team? The newly established Commodity and Global Markets Business-aligned Treasury team has an exciting opportunity for an Analyst to join the team.

The role presents a rare opportunity to join a new function within Group Treasury, critical to its strategy and instrumental in building Commodity and Global Markets product expertise to become the ‘go-to’ for changes and initiatives, such as balance sheet optimization and strategic Capital and Liquidity transformation.

This role will provide you with ownership of the work you produce from start to finish; data and analysis, reporting and insights, and extensive engagement with front office stakeholders. In conjunction with your excellent numerical and analytical skills, this role will provide you with a strong foundation to continue to advance your career in commodity markets or in treasury.

A day in the life will look like:

  • Engaging with multiple stakeholders across Treasury, Risk Management and Front Office to develop a deep understanding of the products and markets that Macquarie trades in
  • Analyzing funding, capital and liquidity on existing business activity in order to provide insights to our stakeholders
  • Assessing commercial, balance sheet and regulatory risks on new business proposals.

Ideally you will have:

  • Recent qualifications in either Finance, Economics, Engineering, Maths, Accounting or similar with strong Academic results.
  • While professional experience is not a pre-requisite for this role, internships or work experience in commodities or the financial sector will be advantageous and highly regarded.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with a commercially minded approach.
  • High level of attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • A keen interest in financial markets, financial products (such as derivatives) and risk management.
  • A fundamental understanding of balance sheet risk management for banks (liquidity, funding and capital) will be advantageous and highly regarded.

So, if you’re a recent graduate looking to step into a role with exposure across financial markets and commodities, and join an exciting organization that opens a realm of opportunities, apply today.
