Senior Anti-bribery and Corruption Manager

Be an integral part of the Macquarie Capital’s first line of defence Non-Financial Risk team as the Anti-bribery and Corruption lead for the Asia Pacific region reporting to the Global AB&C lead in New York.

This dynamic, fast-paced business connects ideas and capital by investing in Infrastructure assets (across the economic and social, transportation, digital, and energy transition sectors), technology and communications companies, real estate and more.

This role will be based in Sydney, New South Wales. Relocation to Australia will be required for applicants located outside this State or Country.

What role will you play?

This role will see you partner directly with senior deal teams and key second line of defence stakeholders on due diligence for new investments in a variety of complex markets. You will determine the diligence scope, analyse the results, and agree strategies to mitigate risk throughout the investment lifecycle.

An integral part of your role will be engaging directly with portfolio company CEOs, CFOs, and General Counsels to lead risk assessment workshops to identify financial crime risks, assess control effectiveness, and identify practical opportunities for continuous improvement of financial crime frameworks and controls.

You will also spearhead the development and delivery of a variety of Anti-bribery and Corruption training programmes, identify/ design and execute continuous improvement enhancements, and represent Macquarie Capital as a Line 1 stakeholder in Groupwide initiatives.

What you offer

  • At least 10 years of experience in a legal, consulting, or advisory compliance role
  • Experience designing and implementing AB&C or other financial crime compliance frameworks and controls
  • Familiarity with key AB&C legislation (e.g., FCPA and UK Bribery Act) and international best practices, or other financial crime subject matter expertise
  • The ability to build relationships with and consensus among senior stakeholders
  • An analytical mindset and an ability to exercise sound judgment in complex scenarios
  • A willingness to travel internationally
