Business Analyst - Fraud

The Fraud Analytics team in Macquarie's Banking & Financial Services division is a rapidly growing, high performing team that is seeking a Lead Analyst/Lead Technical Business Analyst to help drive the delivery of advanced analytical solutions to help keep our clients who bank with Macquarie safe in the dynamic and ever-changing Fraud and Scams space.

As an experienced member of the team, you will work closely with cross functional teams – including product managers, business stakeholders, data scientists, architects and data engineers, to build analytical solutions that are in line with the objectives and key results that have been defined by business leaders.

What role will you play?

  • Understand business needs and high-level business requirements and convert them into technical requirements.
  • Take the lead on driving advanced analytics use cases from discovery to delivery to deployment, ensuring that the definition of done is identified and satisfied
  • Help identify issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outline business impacts.
  • Provide insights and directions to senior stakeholders and enable data driven decisions across cross-functional teams.
  • Use tools such as SQL/Alteryx, R/Python to transform data and draw insights from large data sets.

What you offer:

You will demonstrate initiative, proactivity, and a collaborative mindset to your work. You will have strong communication skills and think critically when solving problems and will be empowered to deliver creative solutions.

  • Minimum 3-4 years' experience building data solutions for advanced analytics while working closely with data scientists, data architects and data modellers.
  • Experience manipulating data and drawing insights using SQL and at least one of the following technologies: Tableau/Power BI, Alteryx/Talend and R/Python.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to a range of non-technical audiences.
  • Experience conducting requirement gathering workshops with clients, business stakeholders and technical experts.
  • Experience in data preparation and integration, including the ability to design, develop and modify data models.
  • Prior experience with Cloud Platforms or Data Science would be an advantage
  • Prior experience in the Financial Crime, Fraud or Financial Services domain would be preferred, but not essential
