Internal Technology Communications and Change Lead

As the Internal Technology Communications and Change Lead, you will lead a team of senior change managers in a newly formed change practice supporting our internal technology teams. You will drive initiatives to support enterprise readiness and adoption of our technology products and services keeping the customer experience at the heart of all we do. You have the opportunity to make a positive difference in the way we deliver technology to our internal customers and teams.

We are looking for an expert communicator, someone that has a natural talent and passion for words and can simplify complex technology messaging to land with ease. Creativity, marketing and fresh ideas will go a long way here. You will be responsible for the change communication strategy, reviewing and providing guidance of your teams’ s communications for multi-channel communications and managing the change and communications pipeline and schedule. You may even have experience in graphic/visual design/animation tools, GIF creation and/marketing experience to ensure our technology communications hit the mark.

You will have the driver’s seat establishing our internal business engagement frameworks and strategy across our global Macquarie business groups. Taking a human centered approach, you will create frameworks that connect our teams with our customers and solve the things that matter. You will develop a unified view of our division’s change portfolio; manage and allocate change resources appropriately and establish a technology engagement framework across Macquarie business groups. You will also build strong partnerships with change and communications colleagues across the organisation to maximise communications cut-through.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a people-oriented change and communications expert, confident in influencing stakeholders at all levels, strategic in maximising your team’s impact, highly collaborative and able to adapt and pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Sponsor ‘human centred change’ combining your change experience with human centered design (HCD) thinking
  • Experience delivering business engagement frameworks that will ensure our customers and teams are talking to each other, continually providing feedback, measuring and improving along the way
  • Provide guidance, advice, mentoring and review of change communications, visual content and campaigns to support your team’s technology change plans and collateral
  • Drive the uplift of change awareness and capability, training, knowledge share and communications impact across our global technology division
  • Continuously improve existing change and communications processes and deliver innovative tools and education for our internal technology teams aligned to best practice
  • Develop a robust change and support framework ensuring that our technology support teams are set up for success
  • Input and execution support in the strategic change capability uplift plan
  • Input and execution of our technology business engagement frameworks across our global internal business

You will bring the following experience:

  • 7-10 years change and communications experience, ideally managing enterprise-wide change portfolio and experience establishing business engagement frameworks
  • Team leadership and management experience with the ability to engage and mentor a small senior team to generate a great impact
  • Lead by example and support, encourage and develop team members
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and work in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to navigate at times ambiguous and complex organisational context
  • High level of organisation and self-drive, with a natural ability to deliver both on strategic and deep dive into operational and tactical details as needed
  • High level of professionalism, energy and sense of urgency to make things happen
  • Flexibility to work across time zones
  • Natural networker able to build effective working partnerships
  • Exceptional business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, to audiences of varying seniority
