Senior Management Accountant

This is a great opportunity to join the broader Operations team at Macquarie Group

In this role, your responsibilities would include:

  • Producing monthly management reporting on cost base and business recoveries
  • Reviewing month-end cost base of Technology service areas, including analysis of variances on month-on-month movement and against forecast
  • Providing analysis and commenting on monthly fluctuations and variances to forecast/budget
  • Analysing and identifying adjusting entries in coordination with Financial Control
  • Ensuring completeness of journal entries particularly accruals of Technology costs
  • Participating in regular financial meetings with stakeholders on month-end results of cost base including review of monthly forecast, budget build and billable rates in Apptio
  • Supporting ad hoc client requests and team initiatives as required from time to time
  • Conscientiously managing business financials, pro-actively assessing risks, and making timely escalations
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues performing similar tasks across other service areas to ensure consistency in approach and quality of service delivery to area clients
  • Identifying opportunities to improve and simplify current processes to increase operational effectiveness and quality of service
  • Performing knowledge based self-review of work and ensure work with highest standards of accuracy is delivered consistently

To be successful in this role, you will need to be customer focused and can initiate and maintain client relationships. You’ll also have a high attention to detail and be comfortable with working on multiple tasks and high volumes.

You’ll also bring the following skills/credentials:

  • Certified Public Accountant License 
  • Possesses strong achievement drive and the ability to deliver under pressure and maintain consistently high-quality standard of work
  • Excellent troubleshooting and issue resolution skill
  • Ability to manage time, workload to meet set timelines for all deliverables
  • Understands how own team’s work contributes to the overall success of the function and can appreciate the big picture
  • Good command over English and understanding of profession communication etiquette is very essential
  • A well-developed attention to detail but with capacity to appreciate the "big picture"
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office suite with particularly strong competence on MS Excel
  • Ability to work in a virtual global team, and manage cross-border relationships effectively
