A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Finance professional to join an exciting, dynamic team within Macquarie’s Financial Management Group in Munich.
As a lead for the finance team, you will be the key financial advisor for the Macquarie Asset Management division in Munich. As the primary Finance contact point for Macquarie Asset Management’s legal entities in Munich, you will be independent and responsible for driving effective legal entity management as well as being involved in all facets of the Group finance function within the MAM business.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- End to end finance management of the Macquarie Asset Management- GLL business where your responsibilities will include:
- Team development – lead a growing team
- Responsible for the implementation of the financial control framework including overseeing
- Monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet management
- Understanding the process flows for key judgement areas
- Responsible for the end-to-end audit process including review of the financial statements, ownership of auditor relationships and liaising with internal finance/tax teams to ensure that the entities remain in compliance with internal and external requirements
- Responsible for regulatory reporting requirements including co-ordination of information from various business and support teams.
- Oversight of tax transfer pricing, ensuring that the policies and arrangements are in place and updated as the business evolves.
- Quarterly financial update to the Board
- Oversight and review over all finance and tax matters
In this role you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across various locations in the Financial Management Group supporting the Macquarie Asset Management business. You will work with key stakeholders on a regular basis such as the Macquarie Asset Management CFO, COO and heads of Financial Control for this business, Division heads of the various Asset Management businesses including the Head of the Luxembourg Office.
- Close interaction with offshore Finance teams, fund accountants and legal entity control team to ensure correct accounting treatment.
- The role will be a key contact point for the regulator on all matters relevant to the Luxemburg entities
You will have a university degree, coupled with a formal accounting qualification (Chartered Accountant or equivalent is preferred), with experience in a similar role, and the technical competency (German GAAP preferred) to be able to deal with managed funds products. Strong internal and external stakeholder engagement skills, and control/ risk awareness will be required for you to be successful in this role.
You will also possess strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, a high level of accuracy with a right first-time approach and strong attention to detail with the ability to re-assess / re-engineer work processes.
