Senior SRE Tech Lead

Our Technology team is responsible for delivering a first-class experience to all our customers globally. As a senior leader in SRE you will proactively ensure the stability, resilience and scale of our services by continuously improving automation, testing and engineering practices. Your extensive experience in implementing best practice across our data platforms drive ultra-scalable and highly reliable systems. We take a flexible approach to the skillsets of candidates and seek people with strong learning mindsets, who can work collaboratively and have the ability to think creatively, over someone who ticks all the boxes.
You will grow our existing SRE practice through your experience of designing, building, deploying or managing data platforms of significant scale. You will be obsessed about ensuring that our solutions are functioning at peak performance 24x7 supporting our customers in all our markets. Through being a ‘change lead’ for DevOps, quality assurance practice implementation and project initiatives you will demonstrate world’s best practice and lead by example. You will be accountable for identifying and defining priorities roadmap, and you’ll drive these through completion to agreed timelines and quality.

We anticipate being successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience leading SRE teams in a fast-paced organisation regularly shipping new products and services
  • Experience providing thought leadership and subject matter expertise in SRE practices to form high performing teams
  • Mange JIRA and ability to set up a fit-for-purpose cadence of ceremonies to facilitate, to ensure the right outcomes are achieved
  • Experience at forecasting and planning at the sprint level to remediate risks and dependencies of delivery
  • Deep experience in DevOps implementation and in evolving practices and ways of working through multi-disciplinary teams, business frameworks and culture
  • Strong leadership skills to ensure SRE teams, vendors and other technology teams are motivated and engaged to deliver against a roadmap
  • High understanding of non functional testing (Performance, Security, Cost Optimisation, Multitenancy)
  • Highly proficient with Kubernetes and AWS
  • Expert in Logging and Monitoring tools (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana), incorporating frameworks and instrumentations
  • Operational experience in maintaining applications.

It will be a bonus if you bring the following:

  • Experience in highly regulated environment like banking or financial services
  • Uplifting and growing existing SRE practice
  • Dealing with sensitive and proprietary data.

As SRE Lead you will need to have excellent technical and people skills, a proven track record in successfully influencing and collaborating with multiple teams, as well as be a natural problem solver who turns ideas into actions.
