Within the Macquarie Asset Management Finance team, you will lead a team involved in end-to-end work in the areas of accounting, management reporting and financial and tax reporting. Other responsibilities of the team include complex accounting like investment accounting, carried interest accounting, consolidation, and deconsolidation, periodical preparation of income statements, balance sheet and financial statement notes including variance analysis and commentaries for the Group’s entities. You are expected to act as the financial controller of the business you are assigned to along with having legal entity control responsibilities. You’ll also as manage talent, enabling and supporting your team members to reach their full potential.
Part of your role will also see you lead projects such as implementation of new accounting standards, group restructures and acquisitions. The role also requires extensive engagement with global finance and business teams as well as external stakeholders such as auditors meaning well demonstrated communication and presentation skills will serve you well.
We’re looking for someone who is inquisitive, has led strong teams and projects and who will be able to demonstrate a continuous focus on improving processes to deliver efficiencies with appropriate risk management practices and controls. The role also requires strong technical skill sets on IFRS based financial reporting, good knowledge of month end accounting and financial reporting processes.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have a postgraduate accounting qualification, CA or CPA as well as 12 + years of relevant post qualification experience. You’ll have a good understanding of reporting requirements under IFRS, particularly standards that are relevant to the banking industry. Prior experience in the banking, financial services, public accounting and stock broking firms will be preferred
