Senior Analyst - Capital, Funding and Projections

Join a high-calibre, collaborative workplace where you will be involved in the key responsibilities of the Group projections team within Group Treasury. This is a unique opportunity which will necessitate you to think broadly, be forward-thinking and proactive, and consider how domestic and international business environment and Macquarie’s businesses shape Group Treasury requirements. This will involve working with a broad range of stakeholders including the Operating Groups, Risk Management Group, Financial Management Group and Investor Relations.

You will be directly exposed to Macquarie's senior management, in a non-hierarchical, merit-based environment and will work closely across the Financial Management Group and Group Treasury teams. In this varied role, you will also partner with Macquarie’s Operating Groups to understand broader organisational requirements. In addition, applying your analytic skills to add insight for senior management, while developing your professional network.

In this role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with stakeholders across Group Treasury and Risk Management Group to enable decisions based on projections of capital, funding, P&L, and balance sheet
  • Partnering with Operating groups to understand P&L projections and advise on funding and capital requirements
  • Identifying and working with project teams to implement transformation initiatives
  • Preparing reports and analysis for senior management, including the CFO and CEO, ALCO as well as the Board 
  • Working with Investor Relations and other stakeholders on externals disclosures
  • Presenting and interacting with the Senior leadership within Group Treasury and the broader Financial Management Group.

In this role your technical skills and qualifications will include:

  • A relevant academic background in a financial or quantitative degree, e.g., actuarial, accounting, economics, engineering, mathematics
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills coupled with an ability to understand and succinctly explain large and complex data sets
  • Clear & concise written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage with all levels of management including non-technical stakeholders
  • The following experience, will be viewed favourably:
    • Previous experience with Funding, Liquidity, Capital, or Group FP&A
    • Understanding of accounting concepts and principles including profit and loss and balance sheet
    • PowerBI, TM1, Alteryx or similar data visualisation applications
