Senior Associate/Exe - Java Developer - Backend - ENT08964

Financial Risk Technology team manages Market, Credit, Liquidity Risk systems that determine the capital requirements related to risk profile of our exposures.

As a junior engineer for the credit risk monitoring system, you would be part of a scrum team that would be delivering a new monitoring platform that would be used by over 150 analysts in the bank. You would also be building APIs on a spring framework to provide services to Angular/React frontends integrating with big data platforms on the backend. You would also be involved in writing spark jobs on big data platforms to provide pre-processed views on the front end. All new deployments are in the public cloud. You would be a fast learner and not be afraid to try out newer and better things.

You would have some experience in working on systems in a bank and would be expected to pick up the functioning of the Credit Risk team. You would be dealing with a variety of products – bonds, swaps, equities, commodities and derivatives and would have a chance to interface with other business teams to learn about valuation and stress testing of positions in these products.

To be successful in the role, we would expect you to have:

  • 5+ years of practical experience in Core and Enterprise Java 
  • 3+ years of practical experience with Spring and Spring Boot
  • 2+ years of Frontend development experience.
  • Some experience with Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, OpenStack etc.)
  • Experience delivering projects in an Agile environment
  • Experience using and developing RESTful APIs using any framework
  • Experience with some RDMS
  • Experience with test automation
  • Solid understanding of data structures, design patterns and algorithms, and experience in applying them to design pragmatic solutions
  • domain knowledge in regulatory reform or other related financial industry experience will be looked upon favourably.
