Commodities and Global Markets | Accounting and Finance Analyst (12 month Maximum Term)

The Business Finance and Funding team is seeking an accounting and finance analyst to join the team. The team sits alongside the business and delivers wide ranging financial outcomes including analysis of complex financial information, preparation of management reports, forecasting and budgeting, balance sheet reconciliations, funding analysis, and financial operations support to multiple global Specialised Asset Finance businesses. This role provides an excellent learning and development opportunity, across a broad set of financial disciplines and options for longer term career development with Macquarie.

Your responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Reconciling cash accounts and balance sheet accounts for multiple businesses, regions and currencies
  • Preparation of complex accounting journals
  • Analysis of portfolios and submission of funding profiles
  • Management reporting analysis
  • Dealing with a large volume of data and complex transactions across multiple systems
  • Working closely with other departments including Group Treasury, Financial Control, Operations, Data, Risk and Tax
  • Identifying and implementing process improvement
  • Adhoc projects and analysis

About You

Ideally, you will demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • At least 1 year experience in financial services
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Study towards CPA/CA or equivalent qualifications
  • Oracle experience is beneficial
  • Experience with lease accounting is beneficial
  • Highly numerical
  • Detail focused
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to deal with internal stakeholders
  • Exhibit strong time management, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Flexible in their approach and able to adapt to suit different needs or situations
  • Enjoy working in teams and can actively collaborate with others
