Senior Security Consultant (Supplier Assurance)

We have an exciting role based in our Sydney Office to join the supplier assurance team in our Identity and Cyber Security department.

You will bring your cyber security expertise to the supplier cyber assurance team, working with a broad stakeholder network across Macquarie to manage the suppliers’ cyber security risk under Macquarie’s Supplier Governance and Information Security framework. The role will require you to proactively drive the risk culture by provide the business with pragmatic, outcome-focused supplier cyber security advice to assist them to achieve business objectives, within the organisation's risk appetite.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing security advisory services to guide the business in meeting cyber security requirements within the organisation to onboard a new supplier.
  • Owning and operationalizing framework and processes used in cyber assessments of new and existing suppliers across Macquarie globally.
  • Working closely with external service providers to deliver supplier cyber assessments.
  • Performing quality reviews and control assurance of supplier cyber assessments.
  • Providing subject matter guidance to supplier relationship managers on addressing identified risks.
  • Driving continuous improvements across assessment methodology, process and tools to keep pace with constantly evolving threat landscape, regulatory requirements and business objectives.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Knowledge of a broad range of cyber security subject matters.
  • Strong knowledge of security, risk, compliance, and control practices with firm experience in in assessing the security posture of suppliers / third Parties.
  • An understanding of relevant regulatory requirements, standards and frameworks such as: CPS-234, CSF, SOC 2 Type 2, NIST (various), ISO 27001, etc.
  • Risk-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to document security recommendations and trade-offs in a manner that is actionable, pragmatic, concise and in plain English.
  • Ability to work on simultaneous assessments with conflicting priorities and timeframes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives.
