Our Market Operations Division is looking for a Executive to be part of the Commodity Markets and Financing Operations team in Shanghai. The Commodity Markets and Financing business is a growing sector and this role presents an opportunity to be part of an evolving and growing function.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Commodity Markets and Financing Operations Shanghai, you will be responsible for providing support on key operational elements on behalf of our Commodities and Global Markets business in China. You will play a role in handling Futures Exchange physical delivery and OTC derivative trading, preparing, issuing and vetting of physical trade contracts, invoices and other documents. You will also be verifying transactions booked in the internal trading systems and be required in preparing payment requests to payment teams. You will be assisting with other ad hoc operational tasks where necessary and other products that are alongside with the Commodities and Global Markets business development in China.
To be successful in this role, you will have a keen interest in Commodity and Trade Finance markets and an understanding of risk controls and procedures in the operations area. You will have good communication skills and ability to develop strong customer relationships. Good organisational and prioritisation skills and a high standard of attention to detail will be important in this role. You should also be able to work in a methodical manner and accept accountability and ownership of tasks.
As the successful candidate, you will have at least 4 years of working experience within Commodity trading support, ideally within the banking sector. Proficiency in English and excellent PC skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft will be important, and you’ll be required to work as part of a team while understanding the importance of escalation and segregation of duties.
