Senior Business Analyst - data management

Join our Enterprise Information Management Tooling team that drives better outcomes for our customers across the Macquarie Group. EIM Tooling Team is tasked to be champion of exceptional customer experiences, working closely with the framework owners and business users to understand their needs and challenges and design solution through best-in-class implementation of Information Management Tools.   

As a Senior Business Analyst for Data Management Tooling, you will work to ensure that the Data Management Tooling backlog is effectively groomed, visible, transparent and clear to all and the features and stories are prioritised to maximise customer and business value.  

On a day to day basis, you will independently work with stakeholders to understand business processes requirements and seamlessly deliver outcomes through our data management tools.  You will drive tooling adoption by translating concepts from technical to business that is easily understood, marry business requirements with effective and strategic solutions.

You will have excellent relationship building and communication skills and an understanding of key HCD and Agile/Scrum concepts.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with EIM Process owners to clarify requirements and conduct initial effort estimation workshop. 
  • Lead the gathering of business requirements for the prioritized epics.
  • Conduct design thinking sessions and present a final solution design that meets our customer expectations and Tooling design principles
  • Appropriately document the solution design to Tooling Documentation Standards
  • Develop effective test plans, execute test cases and document results
  • Review defects with technology team and collaborate to find resolutions.
  • Work with Change management team to conduct user acceptance and training sessions to ensure solution is well adopted.
  • Seek approvals from stakeholders where required.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on our data governance tool set and answer business users of tooling functionality and assist them where required.
  • Continually identify opportunities to improve our tooling capability and eliminate zombie processes

Key Skills 

  • An understanding of data governance concepts and industry trends in Information Management.
  • Prior experience in a Business Analyst/ Process analysis especially in Risk Management and Regulatory Uplift, preferably Data Risk.
  • Experience working with business and technical project stakeholders to translate business requirements into user stories used for solution design 
  • Process improvement experience in Banking and Financial Services.
  • Prior experience in analysis of Regulatory Obligations and Target Operating Model and building solutions that meet enterprise standards.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a passion to champion change 
  • Human centered design experience 
  • Experience with Metadata Management solutions or Collibra University certifications
  • Experience working in Agile teams.
