Associate - Asset Valuation & Data Management

Join our Asset Valuation and Data Management team and actively contribute to the development of the internal control environment and the efficiency of our asset management business while growing your career in an empowering and inclusive culture.

This role will ideally see you come from a fund’s management or custodian background with experience in a similar middle office or operations role. As part of a dynamic team you’ll be responsible for assisting in the daily valuation of securities, performing valuation validation controls, and ensuring strict adherence to Macquarie Asset Management’s pricing policy. You’ll be performing the static creation, maintenance, and enrichment process within deadlines in accounting and trading systems on an ongoing basis. You’ll also perform data quality controls on all security asset types, issuers and sectors. You’ll also be assisting in the maintenance and review of benchmark levels used for portfolio performance reporting purposes.

This role requires you to be available to work in an early morning shift however you may also be required to work as part of the existing afternoon/evening shift from time to time depending on the business requirement.

To be successful in this role you’ll have tertiary qualifications in a business discipline with an overall post-qualification experience of 1-3 years for Associate role with a financial institution, preferably working in a reference data or pricing team for a global custodian or an asset manager. You’ll have sound knowledge of the financial/banking services industry and shared services operating models. You’ll bring strong knowledge of Security Master Information for all asset classes, public and derivatives. You’ll also have knowledge of issuer relationships, parent, ultimate parent and knowledge of Industry Sector Classification and have the ability to work towards tight deadlines in a high paced environment. You bring strong process documentation skills along with very strong MS Office skills – advanced Excel, MS Access, Word, etc., and excellent communication skills. You’ll have knowledge of financial markets and portfolio accounting and experience with systems in the marketplace – Aladdin, Simcorp Dimension, Markit, Thinkfolio, Bloomberg, EaglePace and PEGA would be preferred but not essential.
