DevOps Cloud Engineer


You will join Enterprise Technology Data & Analytics platforms team who manages the data platform used by Macquarie’s Risk, Finance and Market Operations functions, and other Divisions.

As DevOps Engineer you will play a key a role in ensuring the stability of Macquarie’s data platform and expanding its capabilities. Your work will not be limited to supporting the platform. A key aspect of your role will be the automation of manual processes and enhancing the platform CI/CD pipeline.

You’ll bring your knowledge of DevOps best practices and Cloud infrastructure as well as a keen interest for big data technologies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting-up cloud infrastructure and deploying new services in the Cloud
  • Leveraging various APIs to automate manual tasks
  • Streamlining the platform’s CI/CD pipeline
  • Ongoing management and support of the data platform including capacity management, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues

To excel in this role, you will have:

  • Good knowledge of several of the core AWS services (S3, IAM, EC2, ELB, CloudFormation)
  • Good understanding of Linux and networking concepts
  • 5+ years software development experience (preferably in Java)
  • Experience with Data Masking, Spark, Presto, Airflow, Ranger
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A Tertiary degree in IT or similar subject
