Senior Analyst - Frameworks and Assurance

This role is an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to the development and optimisation of key Macquarie regulator-related Frameworks, as well as own delivery of some core elements of the framework. As an Senior Analyst, you’ll join our Regulatory Affairs & Aggregate Risk Frameworks & Assurance team who are responsible for supporting and enhancing the various risk, reporting and governance frameworks owned by Regulatory Affairs & Aggregate Risk, while leading the execution of Prudential Assurance activities.  The team must maintain a strong connection and alignment with relevant Line 1 and Line 2 teams to ensure Regulatory Affairs & Aggregate Risk-owned Frameworks evolve and are implemented in a coordinated way across Macquarie.

The Regulatory Affairs & Aggregate Risk Frameworks & Assurance team supports and works closely with the following RAAR functions:

  • Regulatory Affairs: responsible for liaison with APRA and for supporting compliance with its prudential standards.
  • Aggregate Risk: measures the aggregate risk of Macquarie, using this to assess capital adequacy, test compliance with risk appetite and measure risk-adjusted performance.
  • Model Risk & Quant Analytics: management of model risk in Macquarie’s pricing and capital models.

As a Senior Analyst, your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • maintaining and manage Prudential Standard Mapping Documents as key prudential governance artefact
  • working with stakeholders across the organisation to uplift the supporting control and governance information contained in the Mapping Documents
  • actively contributing to the design and implementation of future state Prudential Standard Mapping Document Framework and system solution
  • facilitating annual attestations by obligation owners and prepare a Board Summary of Prudential Standard compliance
  • administration and internal management reporting of key correspondence with the prudential regulator
  • executing prudential assurance activities as part of the overall prudential assurance plan
  • reporting and analyse breaches and incidents relating to prudential standards.

Ideally you will have:

  • a foundational understanding of regulatory risk management, ideally with exposure to APRA prudential standards and associated regulatory risk management processes
  • a very strong attention to detail
  • experience in carrying out assurance activities, ideally in the regulatory space
  • strong stakeholder engagement skills enabling you to partner effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across the Risk Management Group and Macquarie globally to deliver your responsibilities
  • a structured way of working with a strong process mindset, excited about the opportunity to take the ‘art of the possible’ and make it a reality.
