Senior Product Designer - Client Engagement


Working end to end from discovery through to delivery, this is an opportunity to be embedded in a product design and delivery process and make a real difference in the lives of our Brokers as we build out our digital experience, supported by our award-winning internal BDM network.  

We are looking for a multi-disciplinary designer who is comfortable designing experiences based on a deep understanding of our Broker’s goals and needs. You will be comfortable producing and maintaining high quality artefacts such as user story maps, articulating core needs and pain points, interviewing, researching and understanding what needs are being underserved. You will maintain, lead and execute on our research and design priorities, to feed into the product roadmap for delivery and work closely with our UI designer to develop prototypes to test, and finesse and evolve features for implementation. 

You’ll be comfortable in undertaking both qualitative and quantitative research and working with data and insights to inform your decision making. You will excel at defining the measures that matter to ensure that we are able to articulate a future state vision and work with the team to prioritise the roadmap to bring this to life through your design process.  

We are looking for a strong systems thinker who is passionate about solving the right problems and encourages the whole team to adopt a human centred design mindset and approach through coaching and pragmatic application of design as a way of working.  

You’ll conduct stakeholder interviews, desk research and regular usability testing to bring the whole team closer to the Broker.  You’ll embrace remote working tools and processes to present your findings and solutions to your team and the wider business. 

You’ll have a proven ability to understand the big picture including how the end user experience is best served by underlying systems and processes (the whole ecosystem) as well as provide intuitive, frictionless solutions to complex problems in the form of a digital experience. You’ll be comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced team, whether pitching ideas to your product owner and stakeholders or providing detailed handover to your development team. 

What you'll do: 

  • Collaborate closely with a cross functional team of Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineers and other experts across the business 

  • Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research to validate hypotheses, uncover Broker needs and motivations 

  • Design and facilitate workshops for alignment, ideation and iteration, for small and large groups, remotely and in person  

  • Craft simple, innovative and intuitive solutions to complex scenarios 

  • Produce sketches, flowcharts, wireframes and prototypes for testing, validation and to support robust discussions with your team  

  • Design and conduct moderated and unmoderated usability testing (remote) 

  • Leverage our design system to create high fidelity designs, facilitate walkthroughs with developers and support all the way through delivery   

  • Embed a HCD approach in the team’s ways of working through coaching and demonstrating a HCD skillset, toolset and mindset at every stage of the process.  

What we're looking for: 

  • 5 + years design experience with recent experience as a Senior Designer  

  • Experience with systems thinking and design systems a plus 

  • Designers who thrive in a collaborative team, bringing excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Experience working in an agile team using story mapping, task flows, needs analysis and prioritisation  based on user insights.  

  • A flexible, commercial, and practical approach to design, all the while remaining the advocate for the end user  

  • Designers who think big! You won’t be afraid to challenge the norm 

  • A passionate design advocate, committed to best practice, coaching and mentoring the team and sharing ideas and inspiration 

  • A portfolio showcasing experience in product design where you have previously shipped UX/UI design for digital products 

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Human Computer-Interaction or equivalent practical experience.  

  • End to end experience of managing design activities across the user-centred design process including strong design research skills, iterative design and prototyping and facilitation of usability testing.  

  • Highly skilled in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and collaboration tools such as Mural.  

  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment and resilience in the face of shifting priorities.
