We are looking for a municipal credit analyst to join our fixed income division in Philadelphia. As a candidate with experience with fixed income products, you’ll be joining a highly collaborative team to become an integral support to top tier clients.
To be successful, you’ll have 1 - 5 years of experience in fixed income with a desire to pursue a career as municipal credit analyst.
On a day to day basis, you’ll develop the skills to evaluate the credit quality of potential purchases and conduct thorough credit surveillance of existing holdings. You will retrieve and review disclosure information and use your strong communication skills to make introductory and follow up calls to state and local issuers regarding questions on financials, audits, and operating statistics on existing municipal business within Macquarie. You will use your strong attention to detail to prepare sector-specific spreadsheets on new and existing holdings.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- gathering and evaluating information from investor conference calls, internet road shows, and site visits
- preparing initial internal credit reports and rating surveillance updates, providing timely summary updates to the municipal trading desk either orally or by e-mail
- coordinating with the trading staff on the flow of credit related information with the trading desk
Aside from your strong interest in finance, a relevant degree and excel skills, you’ll also have the ability to build relationships and integrate within a complex financial institution.
A CFA or MBA would also position you strongly for this role. Prior municipal credit experience would be a plus.
