DevOps Engineer


Be part of the Sales and Research team. The Sales and Research team practices pragmatic software development. The team supports various application of the Sales and Research business from authoring to distribution including collecting market data, computation of financial ratios etc and CRM systems.

Responsibilites would include:

  • Act as point of contact for a number of Sales and Research applications;
  • Engage in operational support activities, utilising specialised technical expertise as required;
  • Responsible for incidents and problem queue activities support and closure
  • Planning, executing and managing own tasks and responsibilities;
  • Creating documentations according to defined standards and processes;
  • Identifying improvement opportunities in projects/applications/processes;
  • Providing status updates regularly in a timely manner and proactively;
  • Prioritize and manage tasks and resolve day-to-day application issues and client requests;
  • Identifying and escalating risks that may impact the applications, services or projects;
  • Working with other application and infrastructure support teams to resolve issues;
  • Liaise with vendor support contacts for the resolution of issues and bugs;
  • Effectively manage client expectations and escalate where appropriate;
  • Participate in a number of projects ranging from software upgrades to business-driven enhancements;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the business

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience with WCF (Windows Communication Foundation)
  • Good understanding of SQL
  • Can work in a devops environment
  • Good problem solving skills and be able to work independently
  • Familiarity with .NET and/or Java language

Experience with the following is a big plus:

  • Tomcat and/or JBOSS application server
  • MSSQL database server
  • Remedy or a similar ticket handling system
  • Atlassian products (eg. Confluence, Jira, Bamboo, Stash)
  • Splunk

Key skill requirement

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent customer service capabilities;
  • Proven skills in pro-actively understanding and resolving technical issues;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to provide timely and accurate solutions to system problems;
  • Strong problem solving skills, with accurate decision making abilities;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as a team player;
  • The ability to pick new concepts quickly;
