An exciting opportunity to join a team which is responsible for assessing and monitoring the level of compliance with the requirements of regulatory obligations and internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with AML, sanctions, AB&C law and regulations globally.

As part of the role you will be responsible for conduct assurance and testing reviews of Macquarie’s Financial Crimes Risk Programme (AML/CTF, sanctions and Anti Bribery & corruption). In addition, you will also be responsible for related processes and controls in line with the Global Financial Crime Risk Assurance programme plan. You will also be responsible for communicating findings and related remedial actions to your stakeholders and senior management, which will also include documenting issues and actions. Finally, you will escalate significant compliance risk and track the necessary actions up to successful closure.

This is a great role if you are seeking to gain global exposure in the financial crime space, and where you have the ability to build upon your stakeholder management skills. The role also gives you the opportunity to play a key role in the development of our global financial crime risk assurance testing work plan.

To be successful in this role you will have experience in financial crime compliance / risk gained within an investment bank or financial institution, as well as experience in risk management frameworks, assurance and/ or audit type functions. You will also need strong knowledge around AUSTRAC’s AML/CTF laws and regulatory requirements and excellent communication skills as well as influencing and negotiation skills.

Qualifications in either law, commercial or similar as well as ACAM certification is highly regarded.

Risk Management Group is an independent, centralised unit responsible for ensuring all risk across Macquarie are appropriately assessed and managed. Its divisions include Credit, Prudential, Capital and Markets, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance, Quantitative Applications and Internal Audit.
